We as humans have a real knack for getting ourselves in awkward predicaments. I am often asked, “How can I possibly engage in international missions with so much uncertainty all around us? One of our founding fathers, Thomas Paine said, “These are the times that try men’s souls”.  I think every generation that man has been on earth ends up in a real ‘pickle’.  We must know the Lord and if we were not growing in greater intimacy with him we would really be in dire straits.  To those who have no hope in our savior, Jesus Christ, the world is much darker and devoid of hope. We must cling to the cross of Jesus Christ.Rick Joyner has said repeatedly “Many of the world’s problems are beyond human remedy.”  Indeed we are seeing the chasm widen between the tares and the wheat. Many are getting fresh revelation on the scripture Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”   We must feed our hope and our faith. We must starve hopelessness and fear.

Focus With Faith In 2014

For some in 2014 relationships we will need to cut off ties with those who refuse to learn about the power of life and death resident in our tongue. We are to speak the truth in love and to always exhibit the fruit of the spirit in our lives however in the trying times ahead the Lord is drawing us to a point which will cause us to focus more and more on what the Lord is doing. We must not be guided by the fear of man nor what the enemy of our soul says to us.  The battle is in our mind and the Lord is preparing us for victory as we listen only to the Captain of the host of the army of the Lord.

Walter Mitty! Wake Up And Jump!

Walter Mitty is a fictional work by James Thurber written in the late 1930’s. Ben Stiller directs and stars in a new remake version of the classic tale of the addicted- to-routine with a dead-end-job dreamer who is about to get laid off. Walter often ‘zones out’ into fantasy dream land wishing he were somewhere else.  Walter wants to finish his last job assignment well and the focus of his passion on finding the missing print sent to him by a famous photographer propels him into stepping into a new life as an adventurer showing courage in the face of frightening obstacles. If we as disciples of Christ value the prize of our treasure in a strong enough manner likewise we will rise up to the challenges we face ahead. If we do not act with faith and courage in the days ahead we risk being among the first cast into the lake of fire; that is, the cowards.

Often, without time to think Walter takes daring and bold action due to his focus on obtaining the treasure assigned to him to find. Are you ready to step into purposes the Lord created you for?  When Jesus called his disciples he did not say, “Go home and pray about following me.”  He said, “Come, follow me.”  Those that responded without hesitation or thinking about it long became his disciples.

Prophetic Instinctive Faith

Our western mindset is often reluctant to go with our ‘gut’ feelings. We often over intellectualize the holy trying to bring logic to our lives. How often do we miss God because we rely on our intellect instead of ‘inquiring of the Lord” as David did? The times are upon us where we must allow the Holy Spirit to help us change our thought processes from western 21st century fear based, negative outcome anticipating thinking to ‘God is a now God! We know what he wants. We do not have to think it over or even pray about it’. We are the faith filled warriors we are ready, instant in season and out of season. Isaiah 55:9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Fast changing times warrant us to step across the threshold of our past and our fears by faith into the paradigm shifting destiny fulfilling mode. We read in Isaiah 30:15 …In repentance and rest you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength….”  We will have days to rest and seek the Lord’s presence and his hearts. We will also have days where we are in the heat of battle and rapid change and we will be forced to make important decisions in short time periods.  We are in a kingdom that can not be shaken and our steps are ordered of the Lord. We will have to trust God as never before. We need to prepare by faith for the life he destined for us from before time began. Why did God wait to have us enter this life until now?   Read Hebrews 11:37-40 to see in part the mystery of our Lord.

The Joy Of The Lord Is Our Strength

In 2005 the Lord gave me a vision of wild and holy horses in front of MorningStar in the spot where the pool is set up for baptisms.  I asked the Lord what these horses were for.  I sensed the Holy Spirit answered with this. These horses were for the coming battles, sent from heaven, but where are the riders?

I remember one time being in Guatemala with our friend Clifford Grant, who has served there almost thirty years. We going to Chamelco, to a church plant in the rural rain forest near a small town in the north. Along this mountainous dirt road  many Quechee Indians live. (We often have to use double translation in these parts: English to Spanish to Quechee).  The corn plants are hand planted one at a time and at that time of the year the corn gets as high as the telephone and electric wires.

Clifford was sharing as we drove in his old Suburban how he was facing weariness and missionary fatigue. I encouraged him talking about the joy of the Lord is our strength and that he would run with the horses because of his persistent faithfulness.

At that very instant a big Appaloosa horse jumped right in front of our truck! Cliff slammed on the brakes and we all sat there in amazement.  I said to Cliff, “See, that’s a confirmation of what I just said. You will run with the horses.” Of course I was as stunned as he was and just made that up. My point is that even when we are caught off guard or stunned in these days we need to speak life and faith, even when we do not know what to say.  Do this and see the supernatural invade your life. It makes no sense so do not try and figure it out either.

Downsized Into Destiny, Simplicity And Power

Would you like to know how to never fail? We hear from many saying they are hearing the Lord tell them to downsize. This growing trend is for a reason. I think the Lord is helping us prepare for what’s coming.  God is giving us increasing discernment to know his ways and his will as we hunger for more of him in every area of our lives. Would you like to know how to never fail?  Look at 2 Peter 1:10 “Therefore brethren, give diligence all the more to make your calling and election sure, for if ye do these things ye shall never fall.”

As MorningStar prepares apostolic teams for deployment we see these trends in common in those who are bearing much fruit. Note this list is not exclusive or the only characteristics by any means but common to those we are bearing much fruit:

  • They are thankful and worshipful people.
  • They hunger for the Lord more and more in their lives.
  • They spend time with the Lord and know his voice.
  • They live a downsized life. They get rid of most or all of the ‘stuff’.
  • They speak clearly and preach the simple Gospel.
  • They live debt free or are on the path to being debt free.
  • They believe God by faith by carrying out their ‘marching orders’ with boldness.
  • They relate and spend time with faith filled, faith declaring friends.
  • They die daily to self and overcome offense having any place in their lives.

Rick Joyner said, “The Bible points the way to the bridge between heaven and earth, so that we may all ascend into His presence.” Many are sensing the signs of the times are flowing toward a convergence of the unity the Lord asked for in John 17. We have learned that a small but powerful army of ‘force multipliers’ can disciple nations.  We have seen the prophetic throughout history release the plans of God, giving favor, along with persecution to the prophets of the Lord. The prophetic can also release the favor of the Lord as we see in Daniel, Joseph, and Elisha along with many others.

It is not too late for any of us to rise above mediocrity, lukewarm-ness and the Laodicean spirit common in our nation today to step into walking in the fullness of joy of the Lord. Our nation needs the brave and the committed, surrendered to Christ. The body of Christ needs you and the great cloud of witnesses are waiting on us to fulfill the promise given them. Hebrews 11:37-40. God does have ‘something better for us’.    Generational teamwork as one body through time and history working to see the glory of the Lord complete the dream of God from before time and space began.  You have a part. How big a part is up to you now.

In God’s Eyes It Is Already Finished

The Moravian Trumpet call is ringing out day and night from the mountains to the valleys and across the seas may we see each other fulfill which we were created for. Jesus made us and he makes a way for us to be a part in fulfilling the Great Commission.  It looks impossible to man’s eyes. In God’s eyes, it is already finished.  Lord, help us see what you see.  Lord, help us believe the way you made us to believe.  Lord, we pray that we might move beyond our own ability into your supernatural missionary victory.
