My Kingdom assignment to serve at a wonderful church of one of my dear friends in Odenton, Maryland was an unforgettable experience! Let me tell you about it!

For weeks after receiving the invitation, I was excited about several anticipated experiences. First, it was my longing chance to fellowship with my dear pastor friend who had recently lost her husband of over five decades, who co-pastored with her until his death. He was the Bishop and she the Senior Pastor. It was also an opportunity for me to spend some quality time with my son who lives in Baltimore, Maryland. I was also humbled by the invitation to minister at the church! Upon landing in Maryland I was greeted and hosted by my son. It was refreshing to see him and friends during my stay. It has been a while!

In addition to enjoying family and friends, I still had plenty of study and prayer time to continue to ask the Lord what His message was for the church. The Lord often gives me my messages in my sleep. It is very common for me to preach the message in my dreams and then capture it on paper afterward when I wake up. So, you guessed it, when I have to preach, I like to sleep! The message He gave me for the church was one I had preached before. In my time with Him, He continued to confirm it was what He wanted me to share. I ran this by my mentor and a few others… and we all agreed that the Lord knew what they needed and that I should share what He had revealed. So, I was rested in the assurance I had heard from the Lord! Sunday, when I arrived to the church with my family and some friends accompanying me, we were all welcomed and received so warmly!
WOW!
I was there.
I was ready.
I was very nervous.

I was seriously leaning on the Lord for HELP! I asked Him to have His way in the meeting and was fully yielded to HIM for His way! He heard my prayer and that morning was not churched as usual! I taught a brief message entitled: How desperate are you — for your breakthrough? I used a number of scriptures from the old and New Testament! It was a short message and according to the testimonies of some, it was also “Sweet and powerful!” Hallelujah!

Pastor and I met in her office prior to the service During this meeting I received permission from her to pray for those who would desire prayer after the message. The atmosphere in the room that day left me with an urgent pull from the people desiring personal prayer. When I made the altar call a few people came down for prayer and the Lord moved on them powerfully. Some were even slain in the Spirit! I suddenly understood the pull that I was sensing in the Spirit! It was also a strong leading upon me to pray for the pastor when I had finished the altar ministry. Before praying for her, I asked one of the deaconesses who was assisting to please pass me the Tallit and I took the anointing oil that I had with me as well. I had purchased these from Israel during my ministry time there. I knew I was to use them both in this service. But this was that moment I knew I was to pass the Tallit and the oil to the pastor.

What happened afterward was nothing short of the Holy Spirit doing a tremendous work of comfort and healing in her! When I passed her the Tallit, she clutched it to her chest and immediately began to weep with brokenness. When I saw what the Lord was doing, I started to weep too! She then stood up and while still crying hugged me holding on as if it was for dear life. At that moment, I knew that deep ministry was taking place in both of us. I was overcome with a deep sense of anguish! While I held her I began to wail — loudly — tears streaming down both of our faces as the Holy Spirit was clearly doing a fresh and new work that I had never experienced before. The pastor was being comforted and healed from grief as Holy Spirit was moving from her heart to my heart and I could sense what He was doing in her. As she too, began to be slain in the Spirit, falling to her seat, over the next few moments He worked in Her. When it was done, she stood and I looked her in the eyes and said, ‘You’re good. He is good (referring to her husband who was transitioned into the presence of the Lord). The church is good and I am good!”

Praise the Lord! The church began to shout out loud and praise the Lord! We all knew and witnessed what the Lord had done for the pastor and we gave thanks to a wonderful Healer and Deliverer!

As the service was ending with the announcements the pastor and I started our exit towards the front lobby where we would be available to greet the worshippers as they departed. As I followed her out of the sanctuary she began to point to different people introducing them to me and instructed me to pray for them. So, I continue to pray and greet several people as we exited. Later, I was told by the Pastor and several members of particular things that the Lord did in the room that unforgettable day! The Pastor shared that there was one lady who came for prayer that day who never responds to altar calls. She said, “That’s God!” As we were in the lobby several people testified to me of physical healings including healing from shoulder pains, internal hurts and more! The Pastor even testified that she believed that my purpose for coming to minister at the church was for her!

She testified that she received what she was lacking in the current season of her life and could now move forward! Testimonies were coming in from various people as they passed through the lobby. I was overwhelmed as I knew we all had just experienced a move of the Holy Spirit! Hallelujah!
What the Lord did at the church that day was beyond words! But when I heard my son share his experience with me — I was outdone! He told me that day and for every day I was with him until I left to return home how much the message touched him!

Let me explain about my son. My son does not attend church regularly even though he knows the Lord and respects my calling as a minister of the Gospel. So what happened over the next few days as we fellowshipped was nothing short of miraculous! He spoke of the understanding he received and how the message was so relatable to him. And then came the words, “I am so proud of you!”

Later that Sunday evening, he presented me with a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses and a greeting card that read, “I was amazing!”

Let me tell you what the Lord did in the church was now being done for me. The Lord was blessing me to have the verbal and tangible blessings and affirmations of my son. The Lord did if for the church, for my son and for me! My son and I talked every day about the goodness of the Lord until I departed. Friends, that was my message played out in real-time…
“Breakthrough!”
It was a weekend determined in the heart of the Father to bless his church and to bless me and my son. I know there is a stirring and hunger that has begun in him! It has only just begun…
