Severe: October 2016

  1. Feeding in a monthly basis 375 kids, possible 100 young people in vocational training plus 24 staff, should be around: $8000 (USD). Feeding our children is a major concern. In the USA, the needy children have access to breakfast and lunch, that’s the reasons why they are performed better. Children won’t be able to focus in class with an empty belly from; 7:45am to 2:00 pm daily.
  2. Since you’ve a large cafeteria ready to go, but needed: tables, chairs, kitchen supplies including stove and freezer. All these could be done with a onetime expense of: $3500 (USD)
  3. The cost to secure the payroll of 26 teachers and staff for both Educational and Vocational Training is only: $ 5000 (USD) in a monthly basis. We are one of the few schools in the country that provides free Educational services and Vocational Services for years (since 1972). Unfortunately, we had been forced to shut down the vocational part due to lack of funds.
  4.  School supplies, office and furniture’s are needed, a mini Vans is needed to pick-up the kids who leave more than 15 miles from the school  and to transport anyone (KIDS, STAFF &MISSIONARIES) in case of sickness,  etc..
  5. Our water plant needs major repairs to become more efficient. We are providing pure water to the community in order to prevent the spread of cholera; cost could be: $ 6000 (USD). We need to purchase a small water bag machine and supplies, to fill and seal the water for the community and add up an electric pump to produce more clean water.
  1. After hurricane Matthew, major repairs in needed in the most part of the campus, minimum cost: $10000 (USD).
  2. Need to build a three large bedrooms upstairs in order to shelter better the next victims of future natural disasters, cost would be around $12000 (USD).
If your work would require more details information or materials, please feel free to let me know. We are glad to cooperate with you and look forward to working with you for many years to advance the kingdom of God through social services.

photo3Dear Beloved,
I write to you today with a great urgency. Easter Eve we had a huge rain. Inches and Inches in a very short period of time. Flash flooding was everywhere in the city. Water running through our campus was 4 Ft. high. Then the unimagined happens. The rivers of water undermined our retaining wall at the church washing away half the wall and almost taking the new building. (I’ve attached pictures). Never in a million years did I ever think that wall would go, but it did.

Greetings Beloved,

With the 2014-2015 Academic year opening, Fishers of Men Ministries continues to advance the Kingdom of God and impact the nation of Haiti with the Gospel of His Kingdom. Lives are being changed. Spiritual atmosphere’s are being brought into the obedience of Christ, and God’s government is being established in the hearts of men. We’re already on the move with so much going on, it was time to bring you all up to date.

That’s right! Morning Star Christian Academy is now celebrating it’s 20th year. Birthed in the heart of my wife Linda in 1993, Morning Star Christian Academy came into fruition in 1994. Beginning with 11 students, God has raised this school up to be one of the premier schools of the Nation with over 300 students enrolled. Linda along with others worked diligently over the years, and Morning Star is now duel accredited by ICAA, and South Ed, here in the United States. God has given us a great teaching staff that have labored with us, most of them working with us for years. The fruit is beyond our imagination. So many young people coming to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.Year after year grads contacting us and testifying of how the school and it’s bible based teachings changed their lives. AT the same time many of our graduates going on to higher levels of learning in the universities here in the U.S. I just want to give praise to our Lord who counted us worthy. I want to give a big shout out to my wife Linda who has labored diligently over these years to do everything possible to make this school a success. And most of all I want to praise our Lord Jesus for making it all happen.

Greetings Beloved,

I wanted to write just to encourage you to take a part in the Fishers of Men Ministries Feeding Program. It’s with great joy and thanksgiving, we are still feeding 3,000 kids per day, 5 days a week at our 17 school locations. This past academic year has been a challenge, but God has always been there and taken us through the battles in His victory.

Recently we were blessed, Praise the Lord! Blessed with 3 containers of food. One is on the wharf now, one is loaded and on it’s way. And the third will be loaded later this month. The blessing overwhelms us, literally. The food and shipping are paid for. Which is about a $24,000 blessing. How great is that? But now we have to move the food through customs,  get it distributed to the locations, provide the incidentals for the kitchens, cook the food (spices, sauces, vegetables, meat, etc). And continue to financially help with the kitchen staff at of all the locations.

Brothers and sisters, we need to raise somewhere around $10,000 to move, distribute and cook these three wonderfully blessed, free containers, of food, feeding 3,000 kids! What a great time for us to put our hands together and be a blessing!

Can you help? These 3 containers will feed 3,000 kids through  the month of August. That comes out to about $3.35 per child to feed them for almost 3 months. Thank you, Jesus! Unfortunately, our cash flow has been a big challenge or I would just do it myself. Brothers and Sisters, it seems that God wants to bless you. Any size offering will be greatly appreciated. For $35.00 you have sponsored 10 kids for 3 months. For $3,500 you have sponsored 1,000 kids for 3 months. Don’t think because you can’t do a big offering, God can’t use you. Sponsor a child, sponsor 5 or 10, do what you can do.

Beloved, any help you can give will be a blessing to children who without this meal might not eat that day. Can you imagine? I can’t turn my back on them, I won’t turn my back on them. I’m asking you, please send a love offering now.

Once again, Linda and I thank all of you for your continued support to the ministry in Haiti. Remember, together we are taking “Haiti for Jesus!”

May the Lord continue to richly bless each and every one of you.

Until the Nets are Full,

Pastor Jay Threadgill

Greetings Beloved,

We’ve been so busy, it’s been unbelievable. God keeps moving in graceful, generous ways and the Kingdom of God is being proclaimed! Below is our most current update, testimonies and summer projects. Stand in agreement with us, that God not only continue with Grace and Favor, but that all that is done, will be done for His glory.

Last update we had announced that 3 containers of food were donated to Fishers of Men Ministries – Haiti. A $24,000 blessing. We needed to raise a good $10K for various customs charges, delivery and distribution. I praise the Lord for touching so many hearts. Not only was our financial goal met, but the first container is off the wharf, delivered, and distributed to our feeding locations. Second container should be to our warehouse early next week. The final container will be loaded soon and shipped. A very special thank you to all of you who gave so generously. Remember, he who gives to the poor, lends unto the Lord. God is good and we give Him all the praise.

The last week of May, Fishers of Men Ministries, and Morning Star Christian Academy hosted our Kindergarten Graduation (A BIG DEAL IN HAITI), our Senior (12 grade) Graduation, and our Fishers of Men Bible Training Center Graduation. A very celebratory time for all three classes, students, family and friends. We graduated 22 seniors, now moving on to higher learning opportunities. We also were able to graduate 82 students in our Bachelors of Theology Degree from our Bible Training Center. All of these students are moving to their next level of destiny upon their lives. Thank you Jesus!

Morning Star Christian Academy has several teaching opportunities available. The position is most definitely a “missions opportunity”. There is a base salary along with room and board for those looking for a little adventure in life. Teachers must have either a teaching certificate, or a BA degree. Experience is good but not mandatory, pending interview.

Positions available for 6th and 7th grade levels:

  • High School Physical Education – AA degree or greater.
  • High School Computer Science / Computer lab professor.

Every Summer we try to raise enough funds to cover certain improvements we must make on our main Haiti Campus. Please take a look at the opportunities and ask the Lord if He would have you to invest in a portion of any project listed below. We need your help. We are a FAITH MINISTRY! That means the majority of our funds come from the Lord and His Servants. Linda and I want to thank each and every one of you for the financial sacrifices you give to FOMM. We declare the Lord richly bless you as you give.

  1. 5 NEW CLASSROOM WINDOW A/C’S 22,000 BTU – $600 EA/ $3,000.
  4. TEXT BOOK PURCHASE – $25,000.

As I have often said, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!” There is no gift too small, and non to great. Just think, every $5 – $20 gifts make a $100 gift. Every $10 – $100 gifts makes a $1000 and so on…. Please lift these very important needs up to the Lord to see what He would have you to do…Blessings.

Fishers of Men Ministries is always hosting mission teams through out the year, covering all aspects of ministry. Right now, I desperately need Construction Teams. I have two roofs of churches to be done, along with the construction of a third church totally. Currently, we have one construction team scheduled for October…Come on guys, lets help our Haitian pastors out in some of the poorest areas imaginable to get their feet firmly planted on the ground.

Ministry teams, Children’s Ministry teams, Prison teams, Medical teams…We need you now.

Once again, Linda and I want to continue to thank you all for all you do, standing with us prayerfully and financially. It’s because of our God, joined with you, that we are, “Taking Haiti for Jesus.” Love you all!

Greetings Beloved,

As we move into the Christmas season full speed, we are blessed to announce our 2nd Food Container and our Christmas gift container have arrived. The up side is that they are both here, ready to move through customs, and distribute to many children in need of a meal along with a touch of Christmas love. The down side is trying to move 2 containers at once through Customs and get it all distributed.

It seems that Haiti customs has become more demanding and more expensive to get things accomplished. The food container is moving well. The Christmas gifts seem to be a problem this year. They are going to tax the gifts for the first time. I know it’s unbelievable.

Customs and distribution costs will be no less than $4K-5K. Once again we need to call for a little help from our friends. If you feel the leading of the Spirit to assist us with these financial challenges, please send your gift to our stateside office or go to our web site, where you can donate safely on PayPal.

We are working very diligently to get these containers out and distributed. They are just children. They didn’t ask to be born. They didn’t ask to live in extreme poverty. Our only motivation is to see a smile. Pray for us as we work through these new challenges.

Linda and I will be taking a short break for Christmas with our family in Florida.. We want to thank you for all your support and want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Love on your families. Be a blessing to others. Be a vessel of Christ’s love to those you can touch.

Blessings to all,
Pastors Jay and Linda
