Latif Masih

Dear Pastor Jorge,

Just inform you today I visited along with my team in most affected areas of Khyber Pakhtoon khwa province. It was really very busy day today. I visited Peshawar, Charsada, Kabul River, Indus River, Village Turnab, Katchori, Chamkani, Nasir Pur, Kala Village, and Mologo.

I could not see some of villages. They lost their places. Nobody can say there was village in that place before. I can’t imagine how flood devastated the region. Over 100000 homes were destroyed, leaving around 900000 people homeless in the province.

There were Christian Colony in Turnab village, consist over 40 families. People were residing over 60 years. On 28 July 2010 everybody were sleeping at houses. No body knows what is going to happen in their life, it was very bad day in their life. The massive flooding destroyed everything. It is very terrible situation.

500 Christian families just left areas after massive flooding. They migrated Islamabad and stayed here. About 2000 people are surviving on road side near Indus River. I cannot see more destruction. I pray to Lord.

We have to do lot of work for victims. They need Sanitation & emergency health care like medicine, First Aid, Every day Food, Clean water, Shelter. Education, emergency tent Schools .They actual need rehabilitation as soon as possible.

In the whole region, 500 pastors, Missionaries, Evangelist, affected by flood. They lost their houses, Churches, Home Churches and lovely one.

More than 15 million people are affected by Pakistan’s worst flooding in 80 years, with at least 1,600 fatalities, While the severity of their needs has not yet been fully assessed, the number is greater than those who were affected by the 2005 South Asia tsunami (5 million), the 2005 South Asia earthquake (3 million), or the 2010 Haiti (3 million). The estimate of 290,000 homes destroyed or seriously damaged is almost the same as those destroyed in Haiti.

We are looking quick emergency support to cover this province first.

Blessings: Ps Latif Masih
