Thomas Paine wrote almost two hundred fifty years ago, “These are the times that try men’s souls.” These words are often thought of as the seeds of the American Revolution. Faith, courage, and obedience are necessary to bring restoration to our families and those the Lord calls us to as reconcilers and peace-speakers.

Today the unrest is spreading in many nations around the world. The mass migration of immigrants fleeing from evil is an opportunity to win many to the Lord in spite of the failed policies and vacuum of leadership that is inciting terrorists and thugs. The Good News of Jesus Christ is spreading. Persecution, spiritual warfare, wars, turmoil, and corruption represent the enemy of our soul fighting harder than ever, as if he knows his end is near and Who wins the battle at the end of this age.

Martial Array

The Lord is speaking to His body globally of Jesus’ last unanswered prayer in John 17. In Hebrews 11:40, the Word says “God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.” After reading about these heroes of the faith in Hebrews 11, many are asking how they can possibly be used by the Lord with all that is going on today. Well, we are about to find out. Are we hungry enough for more of the Lord and willing to go to a new level of commitment and surrender of our own comfort, plans, and agendas? Hudson Taylor said, “Without risk there is no room for faith to work.”

The Jewish calendar year begins right after the Feast of Trumpets. One of the trumpet calls of the Lord for this year in Hebrew is pronounced khaw-moosh, written as chamushim, meaning in martial (or battle) array. We must do more than we have been doing to walk in the fullness of stature and unity we read of in Ephesians 4.

God is empowering us by the Holy Spirit to overcome the world by our faith at this time. I believe He desires for us to get over ourselves, to unite and step up in faith to receive the revelation of what it means to stand “as one” in these turbulent times. The Apostle Paul tells us in I Corinthians 1:10, Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment” (NAS).

The Jews saw the supernatural hand of the Lord free them after four hundred years of slavery, and they left Egypt at last. In Exodus 13:18 we learn, “Hence God led the people around by the way of the wilderness to the Red Sea; and the sons of Israel went up in martial array from the land of Egypt” (NAS).

Today, how many of God’s people globally, including here in the West, have been in their own type of Egypt? Even once they were free, some of the Jews still wanted to return to Egypt, but something happened to them in these verses that compelled them to line up in martial array. How do we align ourselves with the Lord in martial array today?

To See Everyone Complete in Christ

Paul was one of the greatest missionaries of all time. As we advance in missions in the nations of the earth, we have met many true heroes of the faith who remind us of those written about in Hebrews 11. They inspire us to draw ever closer to the Lord; to know His heart and align our lives with His plan. Our sincere desire is to see in people what the Lord sees in them, helping them fulfill the Lord’s purposes in their lives. Paul writes in Colossians 1:28, We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ” (NAS).

Human nature, complacency, and the desires of the flesh for comfort have led some to say that the Western church is a type of Laodician church. The Lord is allowing the great shaking in our midst to strengthen us, unite us, and help us choose wisely in the important decisions we will be forced to make very soon. Many of our human problems are clearly beyond human remedy.

Recently we were asked once again to help a man who was persecuted in Pakistan, having an arm cut off with an axe and losing an eye. He requested our assistance. He was forced to flee to Thailand. With many requests coming in, we go to the Lord in prayer, and as God led we began to “vet” this man with many of our friends who live there. We also had trusted Pakistani friends in Thailand go and comfort this man and pray with him. Their discernment confirmed our reports from others in Asia who also had met this man. A prophetic Skype Team from Fort Mill ministered to and spoke healing to his body and spirit.

Our work in sixty nations is built on trust and relationships hewn in the presence of the Lord together. One of our strategic objectives is to seek the Lord with all that is in us for ourselves and families, our local church, and our precious friends in other nations. Together we go into the presence of the Almighty (see Hebrews 4:16) and seek the Father’s heart for the Lord’s plans and purposes to help fulfill the Great Commission by doing our part to “present everyone complete in Christ.”

It takes real love, humility, and prophetic anointing to spot the dry places in others and then bring the oil of the Holy Spirit to make the desert bloom inside them. After our dependence on the Lord’s heart and wisdom, our Missions team exercises sharp discernment. Then with worship, prayer, and prophetic words, we build deepening friendships. Together this global army seeks to expand the kingdom of heaven, winning souls and discipling them and nations.

As Rick Joyner was told by the Lord, “friends are expensive.” It takes time and an investment of prayer, energy, the Father’s heart, resources, and anointing to listen, learn, and break every yoke by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Our Missions’ Rapid Response and Fast Track Force Is Growing

We are so thankful that our team of volunteers is growing. Several graduates of our MSU Theology School, who are also MFM pastors, have caught the fire for the nations and were looking for practical ways to get more involved in leadership development and teaching. Many have been waiting for the opportunity to reach out and disciple many in the nations. In addition, several families have been led by the Lord to relocate to our area to be a part of all the Lord is doing in MorningStar/CM Missions and will work fulltime in Missions as a volunteer, living by faith. We are seeing Psalm 110:3 unfold and the time is now as being confirmed to many answering the call to do more to get in martial array.

Participators, Not Just Spectators

Our recent Missions Conference exceeded many expectations as the call to action, along with amazing guest speakers, imparted a new sense of clarity and vision of how they can be doers of the word, not hearers only. One of our Fort Mill Stay, Pray, and Engage volunteers had been waiting for such a time as this, and she soon will join the underground church in China teaching English as a second language. More teachers there are needed. Another attendee is traveling to Jerusalem with one of our friends from China. The Lord is stirring many and getting folks in the right “God” place as we advance the kingdom and love of God. Are we listening and do we hear Him?

The urgency of the times compels us to train, equip, and deploy many more in this global strategy. Strategic planning is coming into focus with 50+ The Blessing Generation teams also getting ready for holistic, comprehensive mission’s training and deployment strategies from wherever they live. Technology and online resources are connecting many more in our global prophetic community. Time is short and the spiritual army is getting serious about militant formation with urgency to discern the times and impact the earth in our day for the glory of our King.

It’s Not Rocket Science

This end-time army moves with urgency as God leads, and His passion drives our faith into action as we rest and trust in Him. This trumpet call of being conformed into the image and likeness of Jesus delivers us from distractions, hindrances, and non-essential choices as we seek the path of righteousness and lay down our lives for Christ. The simplicity and power of the gospel will change our world as it changes the world around us. First Jerusalem, then Samaria, then to the ends of the earth. This is not rocket science.

Understanding what the Lord has done in those foreign places within their culture is primary to bringing the culture of the kingdom in ways they can relate. Without compromising the gospel, we strive together to enter into the rest of the Lord. That peace of God is beyond understanding, and it is what actually overcomes the enemy of our souls. We are called to destroy the works of the enemy and bring the holy light into all the nations of the earth. With God all things are possible.
