CMM College of Theology: Our Radical Faith

By: Dr. Jorge Parrott

Our Radical Faith

We define “radical faith” as moving beyond fear, control, and shallow religion into total obedience, trust, and intimacy with God. Dr. Jorge Parrott emphasizes that believers must step out of their familiar comfort zones and into the “faith realm,” as this is where God shows up in supernatural ways.

Key aspects of our radical faith include:

  • Complete Reliance on the Holy Spirit: We teach students to hear the voice of the Lord directly and rely on the Holy Spirit for practical guidance in their daily lives. This was exemplified when a Thai farmer listened to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to wait to plant his crops, which saved him from a devastating drought.
  • Character Over Anointing: While we believe strongly in spiritual gifts and the supernatural, we prioritize character, integrity, and purity of heart. Dr. Parrott notes that humility and love must be the foundation of everything, rather than just spiritual anointing or theological knowledge.
  • Expectation of Miracles: Because we view faith as an active, living connection with God, our model expects believers to operate in the supernatural, such as praying for and witnessing miraculous healings.

Our Global Scholarship Model

We launched CMM College of Theology in 2007 to provide theological training to foreign pastors, missionaries, and professionals who needed accessible education without leaving their communities. It quickly spread to appeal to many globally, including in the US, as many everywhere were very hungry for the simplicity and power of the Word of God and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to focus on bringing God’s kingdom to earth, not building man’s kingdom, but Yahweh’s.

Our scholarship model is designed to move knowledge “from the head to the heart to the world.”

Key elements of our educational model include:

  • Intercultural and Multilingual Reach: We operate fully online, with live virtual classes that connect students from diverse backgrounds and nations, including New Zealand, South Africa, Asia, and Europe. To serve native leaders effectively, we offer courses in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Thai, and Burmese.
  • Experiential Learning: Our curriculum balances rigorous academic study with spiritual impartation. We teach students to analyze what the Bible says and what scholars say, but most importantly, we challenge them to ask what the Holy Spirit is saying to them personally.
  • Practical Real-World Application: Our degrees range from associate levels to a Christian Ph.D.. We encourage practical output from our scholars; for example, students write annual dissertations or theses, and we often help them organize and publish these works into books for the marketplace.
  • Financial Accessibility: To ensure that leaders in developing nations or those facing financial hardships can participate, we rely on faith-based giving. Since our inception, we have awarded over $1 million in scholarships to students in need. Check out cmmtheology.org to learn more or apply today. New classes start in September.
