A City on a Hill: Help Us Keep the Light Burning in Allakuru!
by Chris Chaney
If you’ve followed the remarkable events unfolding in this trible area in central India over the past year and a half, you may remember the incredible story of the “Rainy People.” During the height of a scorching dry season, one humble village—Allakuru—prayed desperately for rain! And God answered!
Rain poured down—but only over their village. Not a drop fell in neighboring areas. This miraculous outpouring of rain marked a turning point: nearly the entire village of 400 Hindus turned to Christ.
A Miracle Sparked a Movement
In the wake of this miracle, CMM (Christ’s Mandate for Missions) was able to plant a church and support a local pastor for a time. However, when funding stopped, the pastor had no choice but to leave. The flame that God ignited was left flickering—until now.
A Call to Faith: Pastor Saati and Mary
God has not forgotten Allakuru. And neither have we.
Pastor Saati and his wife Mary—who herself experienced a miraculous healing from a traumatic brain injury—have courageously answered the call to move to Allakuru and serve as missionaries. With their daughters by their side, they’re prepared to give their lives to shepherd this village and spread the Gospel throughout the wider region.
But they cannot go alone. They need our support.
The Mission Field Is Dangerous
Although Saati and Mary are from a nearby region, the Allakuru area is radically Hindu and intensely anti-Christian. This is the same region where tens of thousands of Christians were martyred not many years ago.
To say yes to this mission is an act of bold faith. To take their daughters and step into an area hostile to the Gospel is nothing short of heroic obedience.
The Need: $400 a Month
We are seeking monthly partners who will help sustain Pastor Saati, Mary, and their children with a simple but dignified lifestyle among the believers in Allakuru.
📌 Monthly need: $400
This amount will allow them to:
- Live humbly among the villagers
- Focus entirely on pastoring, evangelizing, and discipling
- Provide basic needs for their children
Will you become one of those who helps carry the torch and keep this miracle village moving forward in the Kingdom?
Why This Matters
Since their conversion last year, Saati and Mary have already led many families to Christ. Their bold witness and faithfulness continue to impact lives.
But the new believers in Allakuru need discipleship. They need biblical teaching, spiritual leadership, and a strong, Spirit-filled church family.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden… Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:14,16
I’ve Been There — And I Know
I’ve walked the dusty roads of Allakuru. I’ve met the villagers. Their kindness, humility, and deep hunger for the Word of God is unforgettable. They are watching, waiting, and eager to grow in their newfound faith.
But they need a shepherd. They need Saati and Mary.
