2026 Is A Bridge Year

“2026 Is A Bridge Year”

By Tom Burns

A Prophetic Vision

Several days ago, I ministered prophetically to a group of people in a foreign country. While praying for one individual, I saw a vivid image of a suspension bridge. The end closest to me stood in full view, but the far end disappeared into the clouds. As I watched, I heard the Lord speak clearly: “2026 is a bridge year.”

This statement carried weight in my spirit, and I believe it applies far beyond the setting where I received it.

What It Means to Enter a Bridge Year

A bridge year marks a time when we have left our previous place, yet we have not fully reached the next. We find ourselves in the middle—suspended between what was and what will be. Though the word transition often gets overused in Christian conversation, we truly are always changing and moving with God.

However, I believe the transition related to 2026 as a bridge year is far more significant than anything we’ve encountered in recent seasons. A bridge year signals movement, journey, and intentional crossing. It also calls for awareness, trust, and readiness.

Anchored on Both Sides

As I studied the image of the suspension bridge, several details stood out. The main cable held firmly to both sides of the span. It anchored securely to where we have come from and equally securely to where we are going. Those anchor points give the bridge its strength, stability, and purpose.

In the same way, God anchors us to both ends of this crossing. He has firmly established where we have been, and He has firmly established where we are headed.

Stepping Into the Clouded Future

The far end of the bridge disappeared into a thick cloud bank. That detail spoke strongly to my spirit.

1. We won’t see the full picture yet.

We will cross by faith. God will lead us step by step, and trust will be essential.

2. The cloud represents the glory of God.

I sensed a deep invitation in that cloud—an invitation to draw closer to His presence. As we move through this bridge year, we will encounter His glory in greater ways. We will see more of His power at work and experience deeper intimacy with Him.
