The Challenge of the New

by Jorge Parrott

Dear CMM Ordained Ministers and precious Oasis Global Family,

Grace and peace to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, King, and soon-coming Bridegroom. We were so blessed and thankful at the glorious time we had last weekend for annual graduation of CMM College of Theology, our largest ever, and the precious presence of Yahweh at the Ordination Ceremony of twenty awesome messengers of fire of our Lord, also, our largest ever.

Here is a file of the Ordination talk many have asked for: https://youtu.be/d0w-bSRckLM Open the video and read the names of those ordained in the video description.

This month, I want to speak to you about something deeply necessary for every minister, leader, intercessor, prophet, teacher, pastor, missionary, and servant of the Lord: the renewing of the mind and the holy challenge of the new.

Romans 12:2 tells us:

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

This verse is not merely about thinking more positive thoughts. It is a summons into transformation. It is the Lord calling us out of past seasons, old patterns, old religious molds, old wounds, old reactions, and old systems that may have shaped us but were never meant to define us.

Many of us came out of Christian environments where we learned wonderful truths, received precious deposits, and were loved by sincere people. We honor every place where Christ was lifted up. Yet we must also be honest: not everything we learned came from the pure river of the Holy Spirit.

Some of what we carried came from fear.

Some came from control.

Some came from the religious spirit.

Some came from wounded leadership.

Some came from tradition without revelation.

Some came from performance instead of intimacy.

Some came from striving to be accepted rather than resting in beloved sonship.

Some came from environments where gifts were celebrated, but character was not deeply formed.

Beloved, the Lord is not merely adding something new to us. He is often asking us to unlearn what cannot carry His glory in the next season.

Jesus said in Mark 2:22:

“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”

This is the challenge of the new.

The new wine is precious, but it also requires new capacity. New obedience. New humility. New discernment. New flexibility. New dependence upon the Lord.

We cannot carry a fresh move of God with an old mindset of fear, comparison, competition, suspicion, pride, offense, or religious striving. We cannot minister the Father’s heart while still living under an orphan spirit. We cannot preach freedom while inwardly being bound by yesterday’s disappointments.

The Holy Spirit is inviting us into deeper renewal.

Not cosmetic renewal.

Not ministry branding renewal.

Not simply new language, new conferences, new connections, or new opportunities.

He is calling us to inner renewal — where the mind of Christ begins to govern our thoughts, reactions, relationships, decisions, and ministry assignments.

Philippians 2:5 says:

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”

The mind of Christ is not anxious.
The mind of Christ is not jealous.
The mind of Christ is not hurried by ambition.
The mind of Christ is not insecure when others are blessed.
The mind of Christ is not ruled by offense.
The mind of Christ does not manipulate to be seen.
The mind of Christ bows low and obeys the Father.

This is where true authority is formed.

CMM Ordained Ministers, we are not called to merely have credentials. We are called to carry Christ. We are not called to build platforms for ourselves. We are called to become living altars where the fire of God burns clean, pure, and holy.

The world does not need more religious noise. The nations need men and women who have been with Jesus.

Acts 4:13 says:

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.”

That is still the mark.

Not charisma alone.

Not title alone.

Not prophetic language alone.

Not education alone.

Not ordination alone.

But the fragrance of Christ.

Many of us must ask the Holy Spirit this month:

Lord, what do I need to unlearn so I can walk more fully in Your new?

Do I need to unlearn fear-based leadership?
Do I need to unlearn religious performance?
Do I need to unlearn suspicion toward other parts of the Body of Christ?
Do I need to unlearn striving for approval?
Do I need to unlearn old patterns of offense?
Do I need to unlearn reacting from pain instead of responding from the Spirit?
Do I need to unlearn ministry as competition and rediscover ministry as family?

The Lord loves us too much to let us drag old baggage into new assignments.

Isaiah 43:18–19 declares:

“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Notice the question: “Shall you not know it?”

It is possible for God to do a new thing and for people to miss it because they are still interpreting everything through yesterday’s lens.

This is why the renewing of the mind is not optional. It is essential.

A renewed mind helps us recognize the new thing.

A renewed mind helps us discern the Spirit from the familiar.

A renewed mind helps us see people through redemption instead of suspicion.

A renewed mind helps us bless what God is blessing, even when it does not come in the package we expected.

A renewed mind helps us remain teachable.

Beloved ministers, stay tender. Stay humble. Stay close to the fire. Let the Lord correct you quickly. Let Him heal what still speaks too loudly. Let Him purify your motives. Let Him stretch your wineskin.

The next season will not be carried by cleverness. It will be carried by consecration.

The Lord is looking for vessels who can be trusted with His heart.

He is raising up ministers who walk in purity, humility, intimacy, holiness, courage, and love. He is raising up prophetic voices who do not merely declare words, but embody the Word. He is raising up apostles, pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets, missionaries, intercessors, counselors, and servants who will not bow to the spirit of the age.

We must be renewed so we are not conformed.

We must be healed so we do not reproduce our wounds.

We must be delivered from old patterns so we can disciple others into true freedom.

We must let the Holy Spirit make us new again and again.

This month, I encourage you to take time before the Lord and pray:

Father, renew my mind.
Expose every old wineskin in me.
Heal what still reacts from pain.
Remove what I learned from fear, control, pride, or religion.
Teach me Your ways.
Give me the mind of Christ.
Make me flexible in Your hands.
Prepare me to carry the new wine without spilling it.
Let my life, ministry, and relationships reveal Jesus.
Amen.

Precious CMM Ordained Ministers, I bless you in the name of Jesus. I bless your families, ministries, churches, businesses, missions, prayers, and assignments. May the Lord strengthen your inner man. May He give you fresh revelation. May He deepen your love for Him. May He renew your mind, purify your heart, and enlarge your capacity for His glory.

The challenge of the new is before us.

Let us not shrink back.

Let us not cling to old wineskins.

Let us move forward together — yielded, humble, courageous, and full of faith.

The best wine is still being poured.

With love, honor, and expectation,
