Now is the Time for Courageous Faith by Jorge Parrott
Scripture never says, “Come, smell and see that the Lord is good.” In this season of multiple wars impacting every sphere of society and globally we need ‘COURAGEOUS FAITH.’
A scent invites interest—but taste requires boldness. Aroma draws you close, but tasting demands trust. Revelation works the same way: it’s God’s green light saying, “Come experience Me for yourself.” And stepping into that experience takes courage. Rev. 4:1 “After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice which I had heard addressing me like [the calling of] a war trumpet said, Come up here, and I will show you what must take place in the future.”
“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who trusts in Him.” — Psalm 34:8
Tasting is personal.
Trusting is risky. ‘Without risk, there is no room for faith to work.’ Oswald Chambers
Faith means leaning in and believing you won’t be harmed for stepping forward into the unknown places of God.
Too often, we stop at the aroma—we sense something fresh in God, but settle for someone else’s testimony instead of pursuing our own encounter. We compare our journey to the documented experiences of the past, and in doing so, we miss the invitation for something new He wants to reveal today.
Think about the woman who crawled on her hands and knees to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment.
There was no precedent, no formula, no example to follow.
Her faith was raw. Desperate. Undignified.
And yet, because she risked everything for one moment with Jesus, she received something no one else did—
He looked at her lovingly and called her “daughter.”
The only time Jesus ever used that word for anyone in Scripture.
That’s what real faith looks like.
It doesn’t cling to tradition.
It presses into Jesus until a breakthrough comes.
When we refuse to pursue Him personally, our faith dries into a secondhand routine—safe, predictable, informational, but powerless. We become people who defend truth but seldom experience it. We embrace church culture but rarely encounter Christ Himself.
But that is NOT who we are.
We are a people of integrity—those who choose the path of authenticity and press into Jesus with an undivided heart. We refuse a faith that is all head and no hunger. We reach for the God who still heals, still speaks, still saves, and still calls us higher.
Faith was never meant to be observed from the sidelines.
It is an invitation to taste, to trust, and to experience the goodness of God firsthand.
So don’t settle for the fragrance of revelation when Jesus is inviting you into the feast of encounter.
Don’t settle for another person’s story when God is ready to write one with you.
Take the risk. Step forward. Bite in.
You’ll find—again and again—that He is good.
