Torrential monsoon rains and river surges have unleashed catastrophic flooding across Pakistan’s Punjab and beyond. Millions are affected, with mass evacuations under way as the Ravi, Chenab, and Sutlej rivers overtop embankments and inundate villages and farmland. Authorities report large-scale rescues and relocations—some of the worst flooding in decades.

In recent days, Jalalpur Pirwala and surrounding districts have been among the hardest hit; a rescue boat capsized near Multan, and evacuations continue as floodwaters breach embankments and submerge homes and crops.
